"We had a wonderful stay in Diani Beach, and what truly made it special was the incredibly service‑minded and friendly staff. They went above and beyond in everything they did, and since we were almost the only guests at the time, we received full attention in the best possible way. The food was absolutely amazing - every meal felt thoughtful, fresh, and beautifully prepared. If you’re looking for peace and quiet, this is the perfect spot. The atmosphere is calm, relaxed, and ideal for unwinding. It’s worth noting that the beach right outside has quite a bit of seaweed, so it’s not the best place for swimming. But if your priority is tranquility, great service, and fantastic food, this place delivers on all of it."

"Sonrisa is a hidden gem..tranquil, quite, serene,peaceful,name it! The Estate is small and intimate making the staff have an eye to detail. The villas are exceptionally clean and tastefully furnished. I loved the fact that they provide breakfast substitutes for you to prepare at your own time...so no need to rush for breakfast. The location is far off Diani, but that was not a problem. The hotel is kid friendly and my son had a blast staying there. The meals are extremely tasty....the list is endless. Sonrisa EXCEEDED my expectations. Antonia is kind and very helpful. We loved our stay and cant wait to come back soon."

"We loved having the property to ourselves and being treated like friends by Antonia and everyone else of the staff. The place is beautiful out of the noise of the bars and restaurants that are north of the property. Spacious villas, nice pool and comfy sunbeds. They replenished our fridge every day with fruits and eggs and left us fresh bread. We also got a lovely candlelit dinner by the pool, all excellently cooked. Ask Antonia for activities nearby (snorkeling, water sports, excursions) and she will advise and organize on your behalf too. Would certainly rebook."

"Sonrisa is south of the Diani Beach Centre so one needs to drive on a bumpy road for some 10 minutes. And I think it would be good to sort out the issue of drinking water by using water filters (totally respect the property’s striving to reduce single use plastic products). The sun chairs at the beach are in a beautiful position but access to the sea could be made a little easier."

"The sea is rocky and not terribly easy to access, you have to walk along the coast a few hundred meters. It's a lovely walk, so I would still go back and stay with great pleasure."

"Remoteness. The property is lovely and well appointed set in beautiful grounds. The only negative for me is that it js located a fair distance down an unmade road which adds 15-20 minutes on the journey when you’re trying to get a taxi to an alternative restaurant / bar / nightclub."

"Quiet! The villa was spacious and comfortable with aircon in both the bedroom and living area. Appreciated the daily bread with fruit and eggs - the passion fruit was lovely! Loved the music and vibe by the lounge/pool area. Staff were attentive and helpful."

"Very friendly and hospitable staff, clean rooms and facilities, amazing views of the ocean, serene and private. Antonia (host) was always on hand to assist in case of any issues and easily reachable and went out of her way to make sure we had a pleasant stay. Small extra touches such as daily change of flowers in the rooms, new fruits placed in the fridge every day was so thoughtful and much appreciated. The food was always freshly made and the candlelit night dinner by the pool was so romantic and enjoyable."

"Unfortunately this side of Diani Beach is fool with sea weed. You need to walk for around 10 minutes to get to nicer (more white sand and less sea weed) part of Diani. Nevertheless, walking on the beach was not a problem. We enjoyed it as well."
